Hello Bridges to Home Ministry Friends:
People have great potential to affect each other in wondrous ways that we are often not even aware is happening. Every moment of every day, every situation, and every person we encounter is an opportunity to advance aliveness in our lives and in their lives. A congenial interaction could give someone the encouragement and courage they need to successfully deal with whatever difficult situation might be occurring in their lives at that time. We don't always know what another person is going through, and that makes every interaction all the more important. We have power to lead someone to a place they would not have been had we not encountered them at that exact moment. It is feasible to reason that we can help each other realize our special purpose on this earth with simply a kind gesture or word. We need a world where more people intentionally project their aliveness and harmony freely to all we meet.
At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” Albert Schweitzer
One of the guiding principles of the Bridges to Home program is that we meet people where they are. We usually have never met the people we serve until the day we show up at their front door. We are never allowed to ask how they got where they are, and quite honestly, that is not at all important to us. We try to always view our time together as very special because we know that, for a very specific reason, the Holy Spirit is fulfilling a need that both the client and the team have. Michael, his wife Carolina, and his 3 beautiful daughters were very gracious in welcoming us to their home on January 25th. Michael spent 6 years in the Coast Guard then 16 years in law enforcement for the government. An injury ended his career and he struggled through some very rocky years trying to recover. He has returned to school to start a new career and greatly appreciated Bridges to Home's help supplying his family with a house full of furniture. Dwight spent 11 years in the Army as a hospital cook. He and his sons were ready for us when we arrived with a loaded trailer on February 1st. George was a Marine who is grateful for his apartment and is now trying to support his Mom & Dad. Victor served for 10 years in the Army, doing 3 tours in Iraq as a tank master. He recounted stories of the incredibly thunderous sound when bombs hit the tank as he was driving it through dangerous territory. All of these people were speechless to express their gratitude to you for supporting them now in a time where your aliveness gives them hope.
It is those of you who donate your time, your treasure, and your talent that continue to light the flame for all of those whom we serve as well as all of those who serve in Bridges to Home. Each donation is perfectly the right item and comes at exactly the right time. Thank you to Pat, Brian & Della, Pam, the Elks Lodge #1419, and 2 anonymous donors for choosing to share your gift of finance with the clients we serve. I pray that you will know peace within your spirit and hope for all that is to come.
Please ready the email for details on the next moves scheduled. Every moment in our lives is our life. I pray we enjoy each and every moment to the fullest.
