God's Ways vs Our Ways
How many times do we shake our head in wonder at how and why things happen? It is sometimes beyond our understanding and the logic of human nature. These are examples of God's way vs. our way of thinking and acting. Many stories in the Bible contain examples of people God chose to carry out his plan and fully equipped them for the mission-Joshua's victory over the city of Jericho; Abram's willingness to sacrifice Isaac; Moses freeing the Israelites from Egypt; David slaying Goliath-and many more examples of God testing faithfulness. At the outset, we would have done things differently, but it is easy to see after the fact how perfect his plan always is. Our way may have worked, but the results are never the tremendously successful outcome faith and trust in God merits. Bridges to Home is a similar example. To be honest, my first reaction when I heard about how the ministry operated was that it would never work. There were so many flaws in the plan that my doubts were sure. Thank God no one listened to me and thank God for all the people who continue to have faith that the ministry will survive and thrive. We have pledged our full faith to the Holy Spirit in all we do, and seek the will of God before all else. Dale use to constantly tell me not to worry about sufficient funds coming in to support the moves, or furniture donations to accommodate needs lists. His and Sharon's faith taught me that faith will surely sustain us.
In faith we forge forward into the next referrals that were sent to us by the service providers who have faith in the ministry to assist their clients. Joseph was an Army Ranger in his military career but life led him to drugs and the brink of suicide. God heard his desparation and sent 2 Marines to pick him up off the streets and arrange for temporary then permanent housing for him. Maurice served in the Navy and is grateful for the help Bridges to Home was able to provide to help him reestablish himself. Ricky served in the Marines and came up from a very deep place. He will soon graduate from San Bernardino Valley College and transfer to Cal Poly Pomona to secure a degree in civil engineering. The assistance he received allows him to stay on that path and realize his dream. James is also a Marine veteran who is happy to be living in a senior apartment complex where he feels safe and grateful for a home.
Please scroll through the gallery of pictures below and enjoy a view of the 4 moves accomplished on November 23rd, November 30th and December 7th.
Without the financial support of those who faithfully donate to the ministry, all that you see could not be accomplished. There are several people working in different capacities toward the successful results we experience. Grateful thanks to Gary & Olga, Molly, Luci, Bob, Frank & Nita, and an anonymous donor for supporting the 4 moves most recently completed. Sincere thanks as well to the anonymous couple that purchases all of the tool boxes given to the clients we serve. The reaction of people when they feel the empowerment of having their own tool box is heartwarming indeed!
Please read the email for details for information on December 21st. Three moves are scheduled for that date and your help would be appreciated.
May the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ surround you all the days of your life.
