“I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us and we change things." Mother Teresa.
I often say “Why doesn’t somebody do this or that, or wouldn’t it be great if someone thought of a solution for this problem or that crisis?” Sitting back and waiting for someone else to handle things or solve a problem is not the purpose for which we were created. We all have strengths and abilities, and those strengths and abilities are uniquely ours. If we don’t use them to fulfill the purpose for which we are created, there is great possibility that it never will get done. Like it or not, this world depends on us, all of us. Someone is waiting for YOU to do this or that; they are depending on you to come through for them. Your action, your reaching out in ways big and small, can make all of the difference in the world to someone you know or someone you may not know and may never meet until we are all together in eternity. Christ’s message is to leave behind kindness, love, and generosity. What will you leave behind?
St. Anthony Bridges to Home volunteers work tirelessly each week to be the hands and feet of Christ in His vineyard on earth. COVID 19 and this inflation we are all enduring has drastically affected the ministry’s finances as well as the pick up and move in teams. Many of the people who have staffed our teams for years are aging and getting injured. The ministry is in dire need of drivers, heavy lifters, light lifters, weekday helpers to pick up donated household items, grant writers, blog writers, and financial supporters. You can volunteer at your convenience; there is never any obligation to work every move or to fund every move. You decide when and where and how you want to participate. Each of us is an important piece of the puzzle that forms a perfect and beautiful picture in the end.
“If not you, then who? If not now, when?” ― Hillel first-century Jewish scholar
Below are pictures of the last 5 moves completed by the program, . Please enjoy the pictures and consider being a part of this ministry that is changing the world one move at a time.
The moves depicted in these pictures are made possible by not only the dynamic teams of people working behind the scenes and every single Saturday, but by our fabulous donors. The impact you make is apparent in the pictures but even more so when the move teams receive the hugs and the tears and the disbelief and the extreme gratitude of those we serve. I invite each of you to join us on the moves so that you can feel how your donations have a powerful impact on these people in real life situations. For many, it is make or break. Thank you, Julie, and Jenny, and Barbara, and Marilyn and Max, and Katie, and Olga and Gary, and Bill and Carol, and Pam, and Bob, and an anonymous donor. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
SIx moves are scheduled for the next few weekends. If you can help, please see the details in the email.
We thank you, most loving and generous Creator, for the abundance you have bestowed on us, your servant people. May we use your gifts to build your kingdom, to help those in need, and to bring light to a world in darkness. Bless the people in our lives that we may help each other grow in your love. We pray in union with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Amen
