Richard Rohr is one of my favorite spiritual teachers. In a recent daily meditation he wrote: “It often seems that the problems in the world are large and overwhelming, and there are limits to what we can accomplish as a single person or even as a single group. It can be profoundly disheartening, but be assured we each make a difference and we can heal the world. Service is work of the soul.”
“God desires to love others unconditionally in and through us. Those who live with faith can truly be called God’s instruments.” God wants His Light to shine through us, and so our first response to this call is simply to listen and then to respond. Giving Him all we have to offer, however large or small, is evidence that the soul is striving for transcendence in Christ. God can take our offering and work miracles beyond our imaginations.
If you want to realize what a difference you make, ask veterans Patrick and his wife Jeanie, Dale, Clarence and his wife Marlo, Anna, Leo, and Carlos. These eight people, whom we were destined to meet from the beginning of time, have you to thank for changing their world in a most impactful way. You may never see these eight people again until we all reach eternity, but they are empowered to go out into the world and spread the magic you poured into their lives. People throughout many generations will thank them for their light, and it was you who originally started that fire. Let’s keep moving and responding and changing the world one move at a time.
Please enjoy pictures from each of these moves as we did when we were in their homes.
Generosity abounds as part of the response to the call for service. Innumerable hours of time are given by the teams who shop, pick up donations, repair furniture, staff the move teams, and perform all of the behind-the-scenes activities. Carol & Bill, Pam, Mary O., Pat K., Jenny, Ralph, Max & Marilyn, Christine, Jim & JoAnn, Bernard, Francis, Kathy N., Rochelle, Noelle, Bob M., Cari & Mike, and Chris B., made financial donations that help sustain us as we pursue the goal of ending homelessness.
Merry Christmas to you and your families and sincere wishes for abundant blessings in the New Year!
Please be sure to read the email for details on the next move scheduled. Let's continue to let our light shine and be world changers!
