Dear Bridges to Home Ministry Friends:
A milestone is defined as an important event or an action or event marking a significant change; a turning point. Bridges to Home achieved a significant milestone this week with the reception of referral numbers 300-302. In October 2013, when the very first referral arrived, it took weeks to plan, finance, gather furniture, and complete the move. As the ministry has matured and membership has grown, several moves are arranged each month. That would have been beyond imagination in October 2013. Thanks to all who have been faithful members of the ministry throughout the years since its inception. You have made it possible to assist hundreds of adults and children, including veterans, single Moms & Dads, seniors, and families. Lives have been drastically changed because you invested your time, your talent, and your treasure in them. They are people you never met and will most likely never see again. It is inconceivable to know what true effect all who have been helped have had in changing the world because of your acts of kindness and compassion. They were shown love so they extended love to others. As we endeavor to make our contribution toward world change one move at a time only the Holy Spirit knows what the future holds for the ministry, but we are confident it will be greatly successful!
Michel is a military veteran who lives in an apartment complex in San Bernardino where we have done 11 previous moves. He was outside waiting for us to arrive and eagerly helped unload. By the time we left, he was literally speechless and in tears. To touch someone to the extent that they are affected so profoundly is reaching their core. This is what drives us to do this week after week. While we were there we happened upon another veteran that Bridges to Home moved into that complex 6 years ago, Charles. His life is going very well; in fact, he just recently got married. Please enjoy the pictures of the move by scrolling using the arrows on the left or right of the picture.
Thanks are extended to those who donated the funds to help finance Michel's move. Without your generosity, Michel's move could have been reduced in items that could be provided.
Kindly read the email for information on volunteering for and/or financing the next two scheduled moves. I humbly consider all of us as being certain that we can change the world.
The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do. Steve Jobs
May God's blessings be upon you always,
Mary
