Father Thomas Keating wrote profound words that emanate through our lives and the Bridges to Home Ministry. "...All limitations to growth ... have been overcome. The divine light cuts across all darkness, prejudice, preconceived ideas, prepackaged values, false expectations, phoniness, and hypocrisy. It presents us with the truth. To act out of the truth is to make Christ grow not only in ourselves, but in others. Thus, the humdrum duties and events of daily life become sacramental, shot through with eternal implications. St. Paul says, ""Now is the time of salvation", that is, now is the time when the whole of the divine mercy is available. Now is the time to risk further growth."
Growth is unsettling and scary but we are filled with certainty that Divine Light breaks down all barriers, including fear and prejudice, and brings us to a place of peace where we are not afraid to accept the call when summoned and experience all that Our Saviour has planned for our lives.
Sharing the Divine Light is an important part of what Bridges to Home does with all of those we are privileged to serve. Five moves were completed on December 14th and December 21st for Anthony, Phillip, Mark, David, and Saul. These men are all military veterans who served in various capacities from an ER nurse to Army infantry to a supply master who equipped carrier ships. Each served the United States with pride that is not dimmed by years following their discharge. Please meet these men through the photo gallery that follows.
