Dear Bridges to Home Ministry Friends:
Howard is a veteran of the Army. He felt very fortunate to spend most of his time in the service in Germany. Throughout the move he commented several times that he was trying to hold back his tears as he watched the team. All that was being done for him was more than he could dream would ever happen to him. He feels so blessed by finding a nice apartment in 1 day, and on that same day he received the news that he got the job he applied for at the Veteran's Administration. The next day he received my phone call saying we were going to furnish his apartment for him. He spends every day in prayer and reading Scripture and in awe of how God is truly blessing him.
Todd served as a security police officer while in the Air Force and then had the opportunity to join the Army and become a Green Beret. He is very proud of his service to his country. He was homeless for 9 years before the VA located him on the streets and took him to a transitional housing unit. The next thing he knew he was housed in the apartment he now has. For him living in his apartment is not easy. At the beginning, he wanted to go back to living on the streets because that was his comfort zone. For the first few months he slept in his tent in the living room because he could not handle waking up and seeing a celing over him and feeling the enclosure of his apartment rather than the openness of the outside. Having a bed to sleep in will be another huge transition for him. While he is grateful for the help and grateful to be inside where it is warm, he struggles daily with this new normal.
Sharon was a nurse in the Army and served in Desert Storm. She recalls many memories that cause her to pray in thanksgiving that that part of her life is behind her. She, sadly, lost her husband just 7 months ago and is grieving his loss. Her life has been a bit of a roller coaster lately, but she is looking forward to enjoying her apartment and all of the new furnishings she received from Bridges to Home.
Please remember each of these people in your prayers as they attempt to deal with the struggles that face them every day.

Anonymous donors generously funded these moves. Matthew 6:1-4 commends these compassionate hearts for giving.
" So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
We are grateful for each participant in this ministry and pray for God's blessings on you as we continue this journey that Our Lord has placed us on and to the Holy Spirit who gives us guidance.
Please review the email for informaton on the next move. Your help is assuredly needed for us to sustain the pace at which we have been called to work. Thank you!
Mary
