It is with jubilant pleasure that I announce that Bridges to Home has received permission to commence offering assistance to the clients of our service providers once again. We are required to incorporate some new protocols into our move strategy, but we are so grateful to reserve Saturdays for in-person moves. In the15 months since Bridges to Home ceased doing moves in person we have been fortunate to complete 16 moves through the generosity of our appliances and mattresses vendors who delivered items to the veterans referred to the ministry during the pandemic.
Thank you to everyone who contacted the ministry during our temporary closure offering to donate furniture or to help where needed. Thank you, also, to the volunteers who helped clean out and ready the 3 storage units for service. It turns out they are more susceptible to wind, rain, and dust than we thought.
On Saturday June 19th, a small team of 4 gathered and assisted Dan, an Army Vietnam era veteran who lives in Loma Linda. Please browse through the picture album below by clicking on the arrow to the right of the pictures to enjoy the move as we did.
Word spread quickly among the case managers at the Veterans' Administration that we are back in business. Within a week I received 7 referrals. This means we are in great need of your financial assistance as well as your assistance in helping pull and pack for the moves, pray for the success of the moves, and volunteer to join us on the moves. Please see the email to which this blog is attached for details on the move for veteran Robert in Murrieta scheduled for next Saturday, June 26th.
We are looking forward to our teams coming back together as we work in unison with our service providers to bring the tangible household items and the intangible gift of Christ in fellowship to our brothers and sisters in need.
Blessings and wishes for good health and a full recovery of our systems.
Mary
